Judy, I loved your molting metaphor for deconstruction. The way it makes it hard to breathe. The necessity of shedding the old. It resonated with me deeply.
You had me nodding my head from the beginning of this, by the way. I too prayed to become a missionary—to leave the US. College marked a major conversion of my conception of the kingdom of God—from a place in heaven for disembodied souls to the renewal of all things as heaven meets earth here and now. Beholding that repositioned my whole life.
So good to read your words again, friend. This is needed and helpful.
Thanks, KJ! I’m so glad the molting metaphor resonated. I just love the symbolism there and in creation in general. Wow, the similarities in our stories. It’s so transformative and liberating to find the true good news, right?!
I’m so looking forward to reading the rest of this series!
