I recently finished Nathan Coulter by Wendell Berry. It’s the first novel of his I’ve ever read. I had only ever read his essays before. But by the time I finished the book, it was obvious to me that fiction, because it’s storytelling, has a way of turning the abstract ideas discussed in non-fiction into something that feels alive and tangible.
Wow. If I was one to share things in public spaces I could go on and on about how faith communities make this so much worse, because we never know how much to fight in faith or just be at peace with what is. There is no answer to this and the lingering tension can be devastating to one’s heart if not kept in check. That balance is a life long pursuit.
I’m currently kicking against the goads. This so resonates. Thank you.
This resonates deeply with me. Thank you for sharing it with us.
